"Back To The Womb"
Original poem and theatrical performance

15 Annual - Spoken Soul Festival, 
Stories from the Womb

 

This immersive, multidisciplinary spoken word experience, featured four poets and musical acts, including teaching artists who also work with incarcerated women from the Miami-based Beyond the Bars program, spotlighting the voices of South Florida women.

"With The Lights On"

Presentado por SWWIM todos los días en colaboración con el Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab (WPHL) de FIU y el Centro de Estudios de la Mujer y el Género de FIU. Los poemas se imprimieron en calcomanías y se exhibirán en lugares de todo Miami.

Micah is originally from Saint Augustine, Florida, and moved to Miami, Florida in 2013.

Known as an upbeat, eclectic and vibrant writer,  Micah has created two self-printed chapbooks and appeared in literary journals such as The Pierian Journal and poetry and short story anthologies including “Journey’s End” by Two Friends Publishing,  Sing the Body, a collection of poems praising ourselves, with SWWIM through their collaboration with FIU’s Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab (WPHL) and FIU’s Center for Women’s and Gender Studies
.

As a performance poet, Micah has graced many stages including the Adrian Arscht Center, performing an original spoken word and art genre blending piece with Spoken Soul 15, Olympia Theater with Front Yard Theatre Collective for their monthly one night only shows, and even at the Sandrell Rivers Theater for The Moth.

 

Recently Micah has completed their first children's book, "Finding The Future", which was a commissioned project to commemorate the opening of the Cybrarium Library in Homestead, Florida.
